We've given some guidelines below, as to
how best to send images to us. If you haven't a clue what
we're talking about, contact us (info@marsbrook.com)
and we'll work out a solution.
Typically photographs are best stored in JPEG format due to
its ability to handle colour so well. All other images are
best sent in GIF format. Images should be no less than 250
pixels wide and at a resolution of 72 pixels per inch.
| File Format |
- JPEG preferred for colour photos
- GIF preferred for all other images
- BMP is also fine and we can handle
TIFF, EPS and native Adobe Illustrator file
- Note: We operate in a Windows PC
environment, hence MAC files can sometimes be a problem
|
| File Size |
- For the Web all files will be a
maximum of 50kb, hence if you're able to send a file
of no larger than this, that will help.
- We want your images to look fantastic
when transferred to the Web, so if you're in any way
uncertain about how to compress a graphics file (or
you don't have a graphics package to do this with),
please send the original file to us and we will happily
do this for you
|
| How to get them to us |
- Please email your files to us. When
the total size of an email is going over 10MB, we'd
ask that you send us multiple emails. If you are working
on a dial-up internet connection, you may want to
keep total email size below 500kb anyhow. If you don't,
emails have a tendency not to go
- Alternatively by CD in the post
|
We may be able to accept photos in other
formats but please check in advance of sending them to us.
Original photographs
Alternatively you can send us your actual photographs. If
you do this, please keep the fo llowing
in mind
- Post them in a sturdy cardboard backed
envelope
- Include your contact details with them
so we know which advert they are for. Reference them to
the caption names / numbers on the order form
- We normally retain photographs in case
we ever need to re-scan them, however if you would like
them returned to you, please state this and include a stamped
addressed envelope.
Photography
from a brochure
We can scan pictures from your brochure, but we would recommend
wherever possible that the original photograph or drawing
is used. A scan from a brochure will never be as sharp as
the original. If you are using a brochure however, please
indicate the exact pictures you want scanned referencing them
to the order form caption names / numbers
If using the post, please send all items
