The five day course is organized to allow people to explore their own chosen media, whether exploring painting techniques, pastels, drawing or pen and ink. The aim of this art course is for participants to immerse themselves in the process of painting & drawing to discover a personal interpretation of all the Oxfordshire landscape has to offer. Use of colour, application of marks, surface texture and balance of composition will be explored to convey a sense of mood of the environment. This course is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience and our objective is to improve your technique, regardless of your starting point.

Classes of up to ten people will be guided by Lisa Jayne within a very relaxing, holiday atmosphere. Whilst classes are structured at the beginning of each day, 9.30am, individuals will be encouraged to work as their mood and schedule suits them until 4.30pm.

Your accommodation:

The course is non residential, however, there is suitable accommodation in the two neighbouring towns; Chipping Norton and Woodstock both just 6 miles from the studio.

If you would prefer a more rural location we often use Banbury Hill Farmhouse, Charlbury, holiday accommodation which lies in the midst of rolling, wooded farmland. Around the large farmhouse are the old stone barns, now splendid conversions into delightful bed and breakfast and cosy self catering cottages. The grassy meadows and young plantations slope gently towards the river valley, with broad grass walks and well-signed farm trails taking you through ever more interesting areas. About the local area:

Radford is set deep within the Oxfordshire countryside and is surrounded by beautiful idyllic scenes, combining nature and traditional stone buildings. Kidlington Hall and Heythrop Park Hall are only a short distance away. In addition to these grand dwellings a number of picturesque buildings line the lanes leading to a number of the rural nearby villages.

How to Get Here:

The small hamlet of Radford is set within the delightfully peaceful Oxfordshire countryside. To get there follow the A44 from Oxford through Woodstock for a further 6 miles. Turn right at the sign to Radford and follow the country lane for about 1 mile, bearing right at the fork. Parking is in front of The Stables Complex. Lisa Jayne's Art studio is the first building on the left hand side as you enter the farm courtyard.
