Overview
Paul and Tina Riley own Coombe Farm Studios where they have been running Fine Art & Craft courses since 1982 along with other artists, family and friends who all contribute to its unique ambiance. The Studios are set in attractively converted stone barns around a charming provencal style courtyard where meals are often taken alfresco in the summer months. We pride ourselves on our good home cooking which utilises mainly organic and additive free meat and homegrown vegetables and herbs. Tutor
Paul Riley's artistic career began at the age of 15 when the Royal Academy accepted one of his works for their Summer Exhibition. At that time he was the youngest painter to have work exhibited at the Academy. Since graduating from Kingston Art School in 1965 Paul has had many solo and group exhibitions both in the UK and Europe, and further afield in Kuwait and Australia. As a result his work is to be found in many private collections worldwide. In the last 10 years Paul has established himself as one of Britain's leading watercolourists. Although he has established himself as one of Britains leading watercolour artists Paul is equally conversant in oils, pastels and all drawing media. He has written 3 bestselling books on watercolour painting, contributed to a TV programme (BBC 2) and writes regular articles for The Artist magazine. His work is regularly reproduced as cards and posters.
