Course Structure
Enjoy an exceptional activity and leisure 5-day break at a stylish luxury villa with tennis court and large pool. Professional and qualified tutors. Choose from books and drama, painting, ceramics, creative writing, fitness and beauty, digital photography, golf and gourmet. Luscious wines, gourmet food. Conviviality and time for relaxation and tranquillity blend beautifully with learning sessions where you can tackle something new or hone those creative skills you already have – all levels of experience are catered-for. Airport transfers and transport on outings included.

Painting & Creative Art:
Brush up your artwork, discover challenging and innovative ideas - or try your hand for the first time: we welcome beginners or those who want to re-awaken their artistic instincts. We also cater for the advanced artist who may not require tuition. The aim of the course is to encourage, stimulate and inspire in a relaxed atmosphere.
Ceramics:
The course will offer an introduction to the traditional techniques of hand-built ceramics which have been used by artists for centuries. Participants will be encouraged to explore several hand-building techniques using coils and slabs of clay.
Digital Photography:
It is intended that this course will be for beginners in the field of digital photography. Using the villages, countryside, and towns of this beautiful part of southern France as our canvas, we hope to develop skills and create an interest for further study.

Participants will gain confidence and knowledge in the functions of the camera, the composition of the image, use of computer, including downloading, adjustment, enhancement, storing to disc and finally printing the pictures.

Wine Tasting:
To give you an insight into this fascinating wine region, an informal wine tasting will be hosted in-house, prior to dinner on Thursday evening, by our resident award-winning Wine Wizard who will bring his longstanding expertise in the wine industry to educate your palate in the wines of the Corbieres, Minervois, Cabardes, Malepere regions, and more. . . You will get the chance to taste the famous Limoux sparkling wine 'Blanquette' and a cross-section of the still and fortified styles which are available.
Books & Drama:
Our Books/Theatre collaboration twins our exploration of novels and plays with drama workshops. St. Raymond's combined course means analysing two sets of themed texts - with perhaps a film thrown in - and at least one play, usually by a modern playwright.
Creative Writing:
The courses re centred around timed exercises - moments of concentration and contemplation, created in such a way that anyone from a raw beginner to a seasoned professional can benefit from them. You can achieve the confidence to start writing, the techniques to keep you writing, the inspiration to create and the motivation to continue after the course ends.
Fitness & Beauty:
Like all our active courses, the Fitness and Beauty break can be as exhausting and exhilarating as you want to make it. The truly energetic can get up with the sun and join a yoga or aqua-aerobics class, take a short walk or cycle down to the Canal du Midi before breakfast - and then tackle a morning's full exercise programme after it. Fitness softies might take a more leisurely approach to their exercise.
Golf & Gourmet:
Join one of the French House Party Experience's luxury golfing breaks and we'll accompany your favourite sport with some serious wine-tasting PLUS a good helping of gourmet French cuisine.

Our themed breaks are customised for ready-made groups, corporate incentive breaks and couples. Single travellers are also welcomed. We are less than two hours from the UK - just fly and go - and then leave everything else to us, including any airport transfers! If you'd like to read our full French House Party brochure, it may be found here.

Set between the Pyrenees in the South and the Black Mountains to the north with the Mediterranean eastwards and the Spanish border less than 2 hours' distant, it is a geographical region of many personalities - as the variety of its wines testifies. houses vinca and prades

A first glimpse of the fabulous medieval Cité of Carcasonne - a World Heritage site and France's second most-popular city for visitors - always draws gasps of admiration. And the area is especially rich in other sites of Cathar history.

The area has a rich artistic heritage: many artists lived of worked here, including Toulouse-Lautrec, Matisse and Dali.

How to Get to Us
We only 20 minutes from Carcassonne Airport and an hour from the beaches of the Mediterranean. The nearest large town is Castelnaudary, the birthplace of "Cassoulet" (a sort of bean casserole). This busy old town has bars, restaurants, plenty of shops, a weekly market and regular festivals. Even closer is the small town of Bram, site of a Cathar stronghold until 1210 when it fell to Papal Crusaders during the massacre of the Cathars. Toulouse is 45 minutes away to the west and Albi, birthplace of the artist Toulouse-Lautrec, about 90 minutes' drive north.
