Painting Holiday Overview
Paint with Julia Rowntree BA(Hons) in village of Aubignan in the heart of the Vaucluse. The farmhouse is set in its own grounds with a salt water swimming pool.
The daily timetable is to paint from 9.30 am through to a delicious lunch at 12.30pm. A well earned siesta is followed by a second session, with teaching finishing about 5.30pm. Students may, of course, continue to paint for as long as they wish.
This is a holiday for you to enjoy. Julia believes in individual teaching in an informal atmosphere, with drawing being the basis of all painting. Please don't be put of by thinking that you can not draw, believe us, by the end of the week you will be amazed by your improvement. Painting is to observe and be aware of your surroundings. Demonstrations will be given, when necessary, of the use of the different types of materials.
There will be ample opportuities for you to study the architecture and landscape in the surrounding areas. Some days, as a group, we will venture further afield to explore more areas. Nearby Carpentras has a wonderful market on Friday mornings. Demonstrations will be given, where necessary, of the various watercolour techniques and use of materials. There will be tuition in the use of watercolour crayons, gouache and acrylics.
Your holiday includes full board, individual teaching, use of the studio, collection and drop-off from Nimes airport / Avignon station as well as all transport for painting trips. You need to budget for the cost of transport to the holiday, holiday insurance, café refreshments and any phone calls which you make.
