Art Workshops in The Heart of Provence
Spend a week with us in the fabled light of Provence and expose yourself to a fresh supply of creative energy. We offer you a fun and informal mix of hands-on learning experiences in our painting workshops, all highlighted by great food and lively discussions in friendly company. We'll see to it that the souvenirs you carry home from this trip will be unlike any other!

What to Expect:
You and your fellow students will have daily morning and afternoon sessions en plein-air, with countryside and village scenes to choose from; fountain squares, outdoor cafés, orchards, vineyards or flowering fields. You may also work with models in the studio and in the landscape.

You will receive individual attention in a relaxed, non-competitive environment, working at your own pace and level to develop your skills. You’ll discover new aspects of your talent, and refine your perception of the world.

Mid-day, you’ll come back to the maison for a gourmet lunch of seasonal specialties, with local wines, cheeses and freshly baked bread. It’s a good time to talk over your work with the instructor and fellow students. After lunch, you’ll have free time to rest, read, or wander around the village until we head out for our afternoon session. At sundown, you’ll return to a generous buffet supper with wine.

Field trips will take you to places that inspired Van Gogh and Cezanne; over Roman bridges, into medieval chateaux; through narrow cobblestone streets. You can up your experience with an optional cooking class, wine-tasting at a vintner’s, or an accompanied visit to one of Provence ’s lively outdoor markets.

To top off the week, we will host a reception and gallery show of your chosen work to local art lovers in our ancient vaulted gallery space.

Per Artist - France	$3,500 (US) per double occupancy per 10 days. * Includes accommodation, tuition, all meals, transportation to locations, a local excursion, the student show, pickup and drop-off, online follow-up. $5,600 (US) for 2 artists for 10 days

Accommodation
Make yourself at home with your American hosts in La Maison des Remparts, an ancient building in the medieval perched village of Saignon in the Luberon region of Provence. Andrew and Marcia have lived here since 2000 and know the land, the language and the cuisine. You’ll settle into your charming guest room with ensuite bath and enjoy tantalizing fare at our convivial table, where everything’s fresh and in season and the wine flows freely.

Tutor
Andrew Petrov is an American painter who lives and works in Provence. He received his Master's Degree in Fine Art from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. His work has shown in the U.S. and internationally.

Location
Our base is the village of Saignon, perched high on a rocky promontory in the legendary Luberon, heart of Provence. The gorgeous natural and architectural scenery surrounding us, preserved as a regional park, attracts outdoor enthusiasts and inspires photographers, painters, writers, gourmets and other artistic souls from around the world.
