We offer a variety of course types to suit. With ElTorn Barcelona you can choose any of the following types of pottery courses:

- teambuilding workshops (tailor-made for companies & groups)
For those looking to take a pottery holiday in Spain, the one week intensive or weekend courses are most relevant.
One week Courses:
Enjoy your mornings between 10am and 2pm with ceramic courses and the rest of the day exploring and enjoying Barcelona and the surrounding areas. Choose from:

Weekend Courses:
We offer Wheel Throwing and Hand Building courses over the weekends. Each course runs from 10am until 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. |
For those who live locally to Barcelona our weekly courses on Wheel Throwing, Hand Building or Sculpture Courses may be of interest. These involve 8 hours of tuition per month on scheduled days. The Studio:
Our spacious studio is a new and modern installation and comprises:
- 9 electric potter wheels
- 2 large electric kilns
- slab machine
- glaze cabin
- ceramic literature in English, German, Spanish and French all available to our guests to help with artistic inspiration as well as to help with the perfection of techniques
- located in a pedestrian zone, with a terrace for breaks

Tutors
Martin Loew: With a background in international business Martin changed direction some years ago. After studying with several Swiss ceramists he opened his first studio, "Le Pot", in Lausanne, Switzerland where he gave wheel throwing classes until 2006. He has participated in various craft fairs and exhibited in various galleries in Switzerland. He moved to Barcelona in 2006 to open the international Pottery School and Atelier ElTornBarcelona.
Paula Rodriguez: Paula has been giving pottery classes since 2002, first in Switzerland and now in Spain. She continues to expand her knowledge through continuous education, and is currently studying jewellery in Girona and Barcelona.
Martin and Paula are assisted by Penelope Vallejo and Sofia Suncais Da Cruz Campanha both of whom are qualified in various areas of ceramics such as High Temperature Glazes and Sculpture.
Location
The school is located close to the heart of Barcelona, in a typical area within a pedestrian zone, with a traditional fresh-food market, park, and a shopping centre close by.
How to Get to Us
The school is very well connected and is only 10 minutes by underground to the Plaza Catuluna and 15 minutes to Puerto Olimmpico & the beaches by tramway.
