The environment
By taking a mountain bike holiday in Morzine and Les Gets in the Portes du Soleil region of France you can be guaranteed the best time you've ever had mountain biking. It's one of the top locations in the world for cross country, freeride and downhill mountain biking.

There are endless trails to suit all abilities, from steep and technical downhills at the top of the mountains to gentle cross country journeys through amazing scenery in the valleys. We've been here for quite a while now and there are still routes that we haven't explored yet. Using the lifts you can cover a vast amount of trails in a day with minimal effort or you can opt to use your legs a little bit more and try some of the awesome climbs.

There are routes high on the mountain that are generally quite technical or there are easier fire road type trails through the forests and along the valleys. The views and the scenery are amazing whichever route you choose. The permanent downhill courses all have direct lift access and the Morzine course finishes within 500m of our chalets. There are two courses in Les Gets, two in Chatel, two at Les Crosets in Switzerland. There's even a North Shore style course in Morgins. All are easily accessible from our chalets in Morzine with minimal effort.

The weather is good, the local people are friendly and from our three chalets in the centre of Morzine endlessride can offer you top quality accommodation and good food and wine to complete your holiday.

Pricing
Prices are per person in Euros and are based on two people sharing a room. Our holidays are fully catered and include 7 nights accommodation (Saturday to Saturday).

Chalet George is available on a per night basis, either B & B or fully catered. 7 night packages are available which include airport transfers and 4 days or accompanied riding.

Accommodation

• Our fully catered service includes: Airport transfers, accommodation, breakfasts, afternoon tea, 6 evening meals with wine, accompanied ride service, washing and workshop facilities.
• All 7 night (Sat-Sat) holidays are inclusive of airport transfers and 4 days accompanied riding. All prices exclude: flights/travel to France, lift passes, lunches and travel/bike insurance.

We don't normally like to boast but we believe that we have the three best placed chalets in Morzine for mountain biking. As the map to the right shows they are clustered together and within 200m of both main lifts out of town. The finish of the Morzine downhill course is just as close- no long climbs back up hills to fix a minor mechanical!

Additional Options / Information

• single supplements - chalets George and Le Grand Sapin both have single rooms where no supplement is payable. If no single rooms are available or you wish to stay in chalet Berger a supplement of 160 Euros may be payable. The supplement may be avoided if you are willing to share a room and a room share of the same sex can be found.
• two week holidays - the first week is charged at full price and the second receives a 30% reduction
• other activities - If you are traveling with a non-biking partner/friend or if you simply fancy a day off the bike there are many other things to do in Morzine. You can try your hand at paragliding, rock climbing, via-ferrata, horse riding, mountain walking or simply laze by the pool. Price details and booking of activities available on request.
• lift pass prices - a 6 day lift pass will cost approx. 53 Euros (2004 prices not yet available)
• Bike rental - We have a selection of bikes available for rent to suit most sizes of rider. Our main rental bikes are Patriot FRs from Orange Mountain Bikes.
• Accompanied riding - 20 Euros per person per day

Location
Morzine is a small but busy alpine town in the Portes du Soleil area of the Haute Savoie, France. 'Portes du Soleil' is the name given to the huge ski area which links Morzine to the French resorts of Les Gets, Avoriaz and Chatel and also to the Swiss resorts of Morgins and Champerey. This area is a mountain biking paradise, not only does it satisfy the hard-core mountain biker but the area also offers trail riding for the novice. Whatever your ability you wont be disappointed. The ski lift system opens during July and August: specially adapted to carry bikes it serves miles and miles of cross country trails and 7 permanent downhill courses.

Morzine and the surrounding areas receive a lot of press for mountain biking but the area is also excellent for road cycling. The Tour de France is a regular visitor to Morzine and rightly so with many top quality routes and testing cols to climb.

The town has a 50m outdoor pool with amazing mountain views. Close by the pool are 10 tennis courts and a fitness trail that follows the river banks. You can also try your hand at climbing, horse riding, via-ferratta, white water rafting, etc. etc....
