Scriptwriting Course Overview
Now's your chance to learn how to write scripts and enjoy a relaxing holiday in rural Spain at the same time! We are running a Scriptwriting Holiday workshop led by award winning Coronation Street and Emmerdale writer and lecturer, Graham Carlisle. It is being offered on 11th - 18th August 2007.

At the beginning of the week Graham will introduce the basic concepts of scriptwriting to every one in a small group (maximum 10 people) but as the week progresses you will work individually with Graham on your own script.

The workshop is based on the production of short film scripts so that you can finish a complete script in the week without missing out on your normal holiday delights. You choose how much time you want to spend writing each day. Graham will work out your own individual schedule that suits you.

Script writing holiday - at the poolYou don’t need to come with any ideas worked out. It is often better to start from scratch using the techniques that Graham uses to come up with a new idea. Once you have your new idea you will work with Graham to develop it into a script. If you do have some work that you want to use then Graham will work with you on that but you’ll be fine starting
from a blank page

During the week Graham will show you examples of short films and television programmes that illustrate the techniques you will be covering.

We also run painting holidays and art courses in Spain.

Pricing
Scriptwriting Holiday: price includes tuition, accommodation, transfers and all meals. Price based on single room occupancy – price reduction for sharing a double or twin. Non-writing partners welcome.	£695 single occupancy

Accommodation
Finca el Cerrillo is an old, beautifully converted olive mill, high in the Andalucian mountains but only one hour's travelling distance from Malaga airport. It is typically Spanish set in its own terraced gardens with magnificent views. Meals are taken on the candlelit terrace or under the shady carob tree. There is a good size swimming pool and the opportunity to walk, study the stars on the night viewing roof or read in the library.

Tutor
Graham Carlisle is a very experienced scriptwriter and script editor with twenty years experience in theatre and television and a long list of credits including Coronation Street, Emmerdale, and Byker Grove.

As well as his own writing Graham teaches scriptwriting workshops at Salford University and the University of Central Lancashire. The Film Council supports his script workshops for beginners in Manchester. These are very successful and have produced many award winning scripts.

Graham is used to working with writers at every level from just starting to very experienced so you needn't be concerned if you haven't done any scriptwriting before.

Location and How to get to us
Hotel Finca el Cerrillo is situated in peaceful countryside close to the traditional Andalucian villages of Canillas de Albaida and Competa in the foothills of the Sierra Almijara, Southern Spain. From it's terraces there are sweeping views of the valley below and of the nearby national park.

The hotel enjoys a tranquil location and yet is only one hour's drive from Malaga airport and 30 minutes from the coast. The attractions of the seaside town of Nerja, with it's golden sandy beaches and it's choice of bars and restaurants are just over 40-minutes drive away. The sights of Andalucia including the architectural splendours of Cordoba and Seville are all within travelling distance making the Hotel a great place to start and end a tour of classical Andalucia. Granada, with its magnificent Alhambra Palace, is a 2 hour drive through impressive scenery.

Guests who do not wish to drive themselves from the airport can arrange a pre-booked taxi with us to collect them from the airport. This service is operated in partnership with the local village taxi driver.
