Overview
Our 3 day photo courses are suitable for anyone interested in developing their travel photography skills and learning more about the "dark arts" of the digital Paraglider over the Sir Norman Foster's viaduct. Millau, Aveyronage.

The courses are aimed at anyone with an interest in photography - from complete beginners to advanced amateurs. We will focus on the practical skills and techniques required to master your camera, but above all I hope to help you to develop your “field craft”. Great travel photography and photojournalism is less to do with kit and perfect technical knowledge and all about planning, access and vision. Once quizzed about the secret to great photography, the National Geographic photographer Sam Abell replied: “F8 and being there”.

With its stunning landscapes, classic redbrick architecture and rich history, the South West of France is a perfect environment for great landscape pictures. But as a photographer in any environment, I am also interested in people, places and any events to tell a story with my images, and these are some of the skills we will be focusing on in the course.

From our base in the Tarn, about 45 mins east of Toulouse, you'll get the chance to shoot in some impressive locations in the region, like Cordes sur Ciel, Albi, St Antonin-Noble-Val and Toulouse. Other nearby locations include Norman Foster's Millau Viaduct, Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi and the Pyrenees.

For more information on the region, please take a look at the Tarn Touristboard website.

Back in the studio, we'll focus on editing your work on the computer using Photoshop (for image editing) and Aperture (digital lightbox and data management) and look how to prepare files for print. If you are new to computers, then don't worry, this is a perfect chance to develop these skills in a relaxed environment.

Overall, my aim is simple, to help you to take better pictures, enjoy your photography and get the most from your time here in South West France!
