Impress you friends and family with gourmet French cuisine from Greedy Goose Cooking Holidays in Ambeyrac, France. One and six day cooking holidays aim to have fun cooking along with fellow epicureans.

Combine hands-on cooking with a relaxing break in one of France's prettiest, and least known regions. Our aim is to make this a holiday where you can do as much or as little as you like.

Mornings are devoted to cooking and in the afternoons you can laze in the sun, explore the countryside or take part n visits to local food and wine producers.

You'll be cooking in the light and airy purpose built kitchen of the main house, with all the top quality equipment you'd expect. There are never more than 7 people learning to cook at any one time to ensure that everyone has plenty of individual attention.

Your host and teacher, Anne Dyson, has spent thirty years cooking for family, friends and business dignitaries. A master educator and self-taught cook, she began Greedy Goose Cooking Holidays to pass on her skills and love of food.

Anne has authored several excellent cookery books including "Greedy Goose Entertains", "20 Recipes for Autumn" and "Greedy Goose Cooks with Family". She is currently writing "Greedy Goslings, a cookery book for children.

6 Day Cooking Holidays: includes tuition, all meals for the 6 days / 7 nights, wine and airport transfer (from Rodez) and the gastronomic day's restaurant meal and transport. A recipe folder and a copy of Anne's book 'Greedy Goose Entertains' are included. Price varies according to the accommodation chosen. Non participating partners are welcome and will share all meals.

4 Day Truffle Hunting Holidays: includes all meals plus wine and coffee, a recipe folder, a jar of pate studded with truffles which you'll have made. Transport to Villefranche de Rouergue and Limogne. Transport to Maison Dyson is not included. 20% discount is applicable where 2 people are sharing a room.

Maison Dyson, the home of Greedy Goose Cooking Holidays, is a large, lovingly restored four story villa built around 1850.

The two acre garden includes a 10 by 4 metre swimming pool with its own deck and a number of small terraces where you can sit, read and enjoy stunning views over the Lot Valley.

All guests have use of the salon in the main house to relax, chat, read or play the piano. Free broadband and WiFi is also available.

Greedy Goose is part of the village of Ambeyrac in the Avreyon; a beautiful part of the Lot Valley with stunning walks, bike rides and river swimming.

Ambeyrac itself is host to typically well stocked grocers and boulangerie, and an excellent butcher's.

The department of Avreyon has more of the villages designated as 'one of the most beautiful villages' in France than any other department. The local architecture is lovely, with old stone walls, turreted houses and chateaux, stone balconies many pigeonierres all garlanded with the quintessential red geraniums in summer.

BY AIR:
Rodez airport is 1 hour away. Ryanair flys from Dublin and London (Mar to Oct only). Air France fly from Paris and HexAir from Lyon. Other airports are Toulouse, Bergerac and Limoges all of which operate regular flights from operators such as Ryanair and Easyjet.

BY TRAIN:
Take Eurostar from London to Paris, then cross Paris to Gare Austerlitzand and go to Capdenac Gare or Cahors.

BY CAR:
Ambeyrac is 475km from Paris. From Paris take the exit onto the A71/E09 (Bordeaux / Orleans), merge to Orleans / Limoges, then exit onto the A20/N20 to Limoges / Toulouse. South of Brive on the A20/N20 take exit 56 towards Rodez / Figeac.
