The walks all start from different parts of the Axarquia - the name given to the region to the east of Malaga. All the walks start within one hour's drive of the village of Torrox. Transport is by 4 X 4 vehicle or mini bus from Torrox Pueblo. The walks are up to 5 - 6 hours duration at a pace that allows you to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings. Guide / Holiday Course Tutors

These are holidays created and run by Gill and Dave, a British couple living in the region. They are experienced walkers trained in hill safety and first aid, and with an infectious enthusiasm for the region! They have found the very best walking routes always through beautiful and varied countryside. They have developed a good knowledge of the area, and its plant and animal life, as well as local customs and traditions. The couple now live on a small farm above the village of Torrox Pueblo and are good Spanish speakers.
Dave Armstead is keen to share his enthusiasm for the area. He makes sure that everybody can enjoy their walking and no-one gets left behind... "We want people to have fun while they experience the outdoor life, and we are happy to make the walks accessible to all levels of walkers so that all may enjoy the panoramic views, even if they can't make it all the way on foot" Clients tell us he is very approachable, flexible, and has a wicked sense of humour! Gill Marsh, a qualified nutritionist, oversees the assembly of the delicious packed lunches provided on walk days. She is also responsible for the general well-being and comfort of our guests. Noel Falvey has lived in Torrox for 3 years. Previously a tour guide in London, now enjoying living in the Axarquia region. Johh Mullaney is is one of our walking guides. He sold his business in 2002 when he decided to take early retirement and move to Torrox 6 years ago.

These old Spanish houses have been beautifully restored and most have their own shower/wc, satellite TV, washing machine, fridge freezer. All linen is provided and all the houses have beautiful terraces with views over the village, the surrounding countryside or the sea. Houses are allocated on a shared basis. All our bedrooms have their own bathroom. We do have a limited number of one-bedroomed houses if you prefer not to share. We are within eight minutes drive of the beach to which a regular bus service operates.
The village also has a really lovely square with a range of bars and restaurants. Please note all our houses are non smoking houses

About the local area:

Andalucia is one of the warmest regions of Europe. It has a temperate, Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters with irregular rainfall. The areas where our walks are situated offer varied terrain, wonderful views of the coasts and the mountains and a variety of flora and fauna. This is a most beautiful part of Spain, with a view of spectacular mountain areas, comprising of terraced hillsides and fertile, well-watered valleys. It has orchards of orange and olive trees watered by a unique Moorish irrigation system that was developed over a thousand years ago.

How to Get Here:

Travelling by Plane The starting point for our holidays is Malaga Airport. Flights to Malaga are plentiful and competitively priced from most UK airports and from others in northern Europe. Airport transfers are provided at the specified times. Transfers from Malaga normally leave the airport between 11:30 and 13:00 on the day of arrival and return to Malaga at around 08:00 and 10:00 in the morning on the day of departure. Private taxis can be arranged at other times, details on request. If you have any difficulty in arranging your flights, our Administrator in the UK will be more than happy to help you with your reservations.
