Holiday / Activity Overview:

Set sail for discovery; imagine sailing along a picturesque coast line, visiting unspoilt bays, beautiful islands, places inaccessible by land whilst realising your dream of sailing on a yacht.

Start your sail cruising holiday from the fortified medieval city of Vannes, at the heart of the beautiful ‘Golfe du Morbihan’; ‘Morbihan’ is a Breton word and means little sea. Vannes boasts a myriad of restaurants and the atmosphere of a typical Breton city.

It is a pleasure to discover the calm of the ‘Golfe', an area which has been described as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. It offers something for all tastes, unequalled Breton scenery, picturesque harbours, cruising in protected bays, delightful and peaceful anchorages. Head out into the ‘Baie de Quiberon’, sail east or west along this unspoilt part of the French coast where the sheltered coastline makes a great sailing holiday with beautiful beaches, plenty of anchorages and islands.

Head further afield and there is the opportunity to experience some adventurous offshore sailing. Sit back and relax or be as ‘hands on’ as you wish, our highly experienced instructors will be pleased to help tailor a sail cruise to suit your requirements.

Sailing is a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone. You may want to combine time on the water with time ashore, experience sailing for a day, a weekend or a fortnight holiday - you choose.

About the local area:

Brittany is full of secret delights, light and colour to be enjoyed.

The ‘Golfe du Morbihan’ is an inland sea and is strewn with around 40 small islands and inlets. It has many white sandy beaches; you could easily spend two weeks going to a different beach every day with quaint fishing villages dotting the coastline. This great tidal gulf, crammed with islands is a paradise waiting to be explored.

Sailing out into the ‘Baie de Quiberon’, the island of Houat or the smaller and more isolated Hoëdic offer spectacular beaches beautiful unspoilt anchorages and plenty of flora and fauna. ‘Belle-Ile’ is the largest and offers many picturesque bays, Ster Wen and Port Kerel are found on the ‘côte sauvage' and are two of the most beautiful anchorages in South Brittany, some say France.

The historical Port of St Goustain in Auray has picturesque cobbled streets, art galleries in abundance and boutiques. Enjoy the atmosphere and numerous restaurants sample the delights of the local Gaelic gastronomy, including oysters, ‘fruit de mer’, cider, crepes and salty caramels. The Auray River leads to the small port of Bono, in the heart of nature with a history of oyster farming.

Discover the Breton myths and legends. The monoliths of Carnac, 17th century architecture of Saint Anne d’Auray, Chateaus, magnificent gardens, magical forests, lakes and birdlife are all in abundance in Southern Brittany.

With its delightfully mild climate, here in the ‘Gulf de Morbihan’ there truly is something for everyone.
