Holiday / Activity Overview:

Would you like to 'step off your world' for a while? To heal, find your own inner peace and rediscover who you are and what you'd like from your life? Then a one-to-one, personal retreat at The Jasmine House, on Portland (Dorset) may just be what the doctor ordered! I offer two different kinds retreats. My 2-4 day Revive Retreats are a mixture of time spent with me and time alone for you to reflect, relax and chill. You may come alone, with a friend, partner or spouse. I also offer a 6-day Recovery Retreat which is for you alone. My time from 7 am to 6 pm is completely dedicated to you. This longer, indepth retreat is ideal if you are at a crisis point in your life, are massively stressed and/or feel the need for some deep recuperation.

Pricing information

For the Revive Retreat, the price will be dependent on whether you come alone, with someone else, how long you stay and which room you choose. Prices start from £450. Please see my website www.thejasminehouse.co.uk For the 6-day, indepth Recovery Retreat which includes my time dedicated to you, your stay in the Meadow Room, most meals, time at the spa, and work with other therapists, is £2,350.

Your accommodation:

The Meadow Room is a lovely, large double room that in the morning is filled with light from the large Georgian window. The room has a luxury ensuite shower room. The walls are painted with natural Clay paint and the bed linen is organic cotton. The Glade Room is a delightful twin room – ideal if you're coming with a friend. There is a private, but separate shower room.

About the local area:

Portland is a tiny island just off the Dorset coast next to Weymouth. Well, technically it isn't exactly an island! It's tied to Weymouth by an amazing bank of 180 billion pebbles that form Chesil Beach and the causeway road that runs next to it. But we call it an island none-the-less for we are surrounded by the sea. Locally, Portland is affectionately known as The Rock, for it is famous for its Limestone. The island is just over 4 miles long and slightly less than 2 miles wide. Many of the old Quarry's have long given up all of their usable rock and now they have become places of interest in their own right. There is the Butterfly Quarry where more than half of the UK's 57 species can be found. There's is the slightly quirky Tout Quarry with it's hidden sculptures and stone carvings and of course there is our famous lighthouse, Portland Bill. I don't think pretty is the right word to describe Portland, apart perhaps from May when the island is covered with masses of wild flowers, but there is rugged, natural beauty and spiritual air that is very appealing. And there are the most amazing coastal views from the paths that crisscross the island.

How to Get Here:

By car: Portland is between 3-4 hours from London, approx 2 hours from Bristol, and 3 hours from Oxford. By train: There is an excellent service from Waterloo direct to Weymouth. I can often arrange to meet you. Alternatively, there is local bus and taxis. (Weymouth is 5 miles from Portland). By air: Although Bournemouth is slightly nearer, Southampton is easier as the train is directly at the airport and the train service brings you directly to Weymouth.
